Walid Hayek joins Fransabank in Lebanon

Handshake1The investment and private banking unit of Lebanon’s oldest bank has appointed Walid Hayek, formerly of Abu Dhabi-based asset manager The National Investor, as head of business development.

Hayek reports to Michel Saroufim, general manager, and Nabil Kassar, chairman of Fransa Invest Bank, a division of Fransabank.

Hayek was head of asset management at The National Investor for nearly ten years before leaving in early 2014. He was replaced by Sebastien Henin.

Fransabank was first established in Beirut in 1921 as a branch of one of the French banks, Crédit Foncier d’Algérie et de Tunisie. The bank operates subsidiaries in France, Algeria, Syria, Sudan, Belarus, Cyprus, Iraq, Cuba, UAE and West Africa.

Fransa Invest Bank was established in 2001 to offer investment banking and private banking services.
