St James’s Place to open Dubai office

UK-based investment manager St James’s Place (SJP) has been granted approval by the Dubai Financial Services Authority to open an office in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

The new branch would be the firm’s first office in the Middle East.

It will form part of SJP’s Asia and Middle East business, alongside existing offices in Hong Kong and Singapore.

The focus will be on Dubai’s large expatriate presence, which accounts for almost half (48%) of the emirate’s total population.

Matthew Deeprose will head up the Dubai office as senior executive officer of SJP Middle East.

He has been with the firm for ten years and has served in several international roles, including CEO of the Hong Kong operation.
