Sico names chairman of the board

Saudi-based asset manager Sico has appointed Abdulla Ahmed Kamal as chairman of the board of directors.

He replaces Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Hkalifa who resigned to take on the CEO role of Mumtalakat Holding Company, the Bahrain-based sovereign wealth fund.

Kamal has been on the board of directors at Sico since 2020, representing social insurance organisations.

He is currently the chief operating officer at Osool Asset Management and board director at Bahrain Car Parks Company and Amlak Real Estate Company.

He also has a 20-year career in asset management, during which he has worked in various roles covering investment operations, audit, business risk consultancy, and corporate governance.
