Sico appoints chief risk officer

Mena-based asset manager Sico has boosted its management team with the appointment of a chief risk officer (CRO) and a head of middle office.

Owen Vallis has been named as CRO. He was previously UK head of asset management risk at Credit Suisse Group in London. He has also worked for Morgan Stanley and Kleinwort Benson as a risk analyst.

Nimita Nazer has been appointed as head of middle office, a newly created department to support Sico’s asset management activities.

She joined Sico in 2018 as portfolio administrator of the asset management equities department and was responsible for managing its non-investment activities. Prior to that she spent seven years with HSBC Securities Services in Bahrain.

Both appointments are newly created positions aimed at expanding and enhancing both functions within the bank.
