Saxo Bank and Wealthface launch investment platforms in Mena

Two separate online investment platforms have launched in the GCC underlining the growing interest in the region’s retail investor market. Danish fintech Saxo Bank has launched SaxoInvestor is aimed at self-directed investors and offers both tools and investment insights, according to the firm.

The platform can be accessed via desktop and mobile and covers stocks, ETFs, mutual funds, bonds and cryptocurrencies.

The launch has come on the back of Saxo Bank’s growing client base in the region which has risen by 150% in the last two years and has also seen an increase in women investors which now make up 18% of Saxo’s new clients.

Meanwhile Abu Dhabi-based Wealthface has launched what it describes as a “premium trading account for millennials and professional traders” in the Mena region and the US.

The service follows the launch of an investment app in December 2021.
