The number of foreign investment licences issued by Saudi Arabia in 2021 has increased by 250% from the previous year.
According to Invest Saudi, the kingdom’s National Transformation Program (NTP), a total of 4,431 licences were issued last year.
During 2021, 44 international companies selected Riyadh as their regional headquarters.
The NTP has attributed this success to the Invest Saudi initiative and its ability to “enable the clear, unified, and effective communication of the Kingdom’s investment opportunities to global and domestic investors and private sector businesses”.
Another factor was the 2021 Saudi-French Investment Forum during which 27 agreements were signed between French and Saudi Arabian firms.
