The Qatar Investment Authority has hired Niall Byrne as chief financial officer (CFO).
He served as CFO and chief operating officer, global fixed income, currency and commodities at JP Morgan for the last five years.
In a near 30 year career, Byrne has held a number of different roles at JP Morgan, including chief auditor for wealth and asset management.
It is not the first time the QIA has looked to recruit from Wall Street.
In October, the sovereign wealth fund hired former Morgan Stanley managing director Gautier Martin-Regnier as its global head of capital markets.
