Kuwaiti asset manager, Kamco Invest, has launched ikatib.com, a web-based subscription platform.
The service is designed to enable registered investors to subscribe for the firm’s latest equity offerings and bond issuances.
Other instruments that will be listed on the platform include initial public offerings, rights issues and sukuk offerings.
The first transaction to appear on the platform was the capital increase of Gulf Insurance Group. The launch has been precipitated by the recent upgrade of the Kuwaiti market to emerging market status by international index providers, a move that it is likely to increase international investment into the country.
Abdullah AlSharekh, managing director of markets and investment banking at Kamco Invest, said the platform will serve as “a gateway to connect investors with opportunities managed by Kamco Invest” and will “streamline and automate the subscription process for a range of capital market products”.
