Julius Baer to open Qatar office

Swiss wealth manager Julius Baer has appointed the former head of private banking at Doha Bank to head up its planned expansion in Qatar.

Slim Bouker will lead the advisory office in Doha, reporting to Alireza Valizadeh, chief executive of Julius Baer (Middle East).

The office will open in Qatar Financial Centre Authority pending regulatory approval.

“Currently, we’re seeing the emergence of the next generation of clients – a generation that likes to look beyond the traditional ways of wealth preservation, especially in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries such as Qatar,” said Valizadeh.
