Julius Baer opens advisory office in Qatar

Swiss wealth manager Julius Baer has expanded its presence in the Mena market with the opening of an advisory office in Qatar.

It is the firm’s third office in the region, alongside its presence in Dubai and Manama.

The legal entity, Julius Baer QFC, was granted a licence from the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority.

It will be led by Slim Bouker, who reports to Alireza Valizadeh, chief executive of Julius Baer (Middle East).

Julius Baer has also agreed a partnership with Qatar Foundation’s education initiative, WISE, which will focus on supporting community impact engagements relating to youth.

“The Middle East represents an important growth region for Julius Baer and is today a key pillar of the bank’s strategy,” said Régis Burger, global head Middle East & Africa at Julius Baer.

“The expansion into Qatar further demonstrates our ambition and long-term commitment towards these markets.”
