Bahrain-based alternative investment manager Investcorp is launching a $100 million fund for Omani pension funds.
The Opportunities Fund will focus its investments on private equity assets in the US and Europe and target mid-size companies across a variety of sectors, according to Investcorp executive chairman Mohammed Alardhi, who announced the fund launch at an event hosted by the Defence Pension Fund in Muscat.
Each investment will be within a targeted range of $200 million to $500 million and include a mixture of equity plus debt.
“Oman is an important market for Investcorp and we are committed to playing an active role in supporting the development of its economy,” he said.
“The fund will enable Omani pension funds to tap into investment opportunities in growth companies, sectors and markets,” he added.
