Investcorp appoints first diversity head

Bahrain-based private equity firm Investcorp has named current HR head Jordana Semaan as its first head of diversity.

Her official title is diversity and inclusion champion and she will report directly to executive chairman, Mohammed Alardhi.

The new job title is part of a number of new initiatives set to be launched by Investcorp to enhance its diversity and inclusion practices, according to the firm. It has also implemented mandatory unconscious bias and diversity and inclusion training for all Investcorp employees.

“We believe that having a diverse mix of skills, perspectives, backgrounds and expertise are key drivers of our success, which is why they are embedded into our daily operations,” said Alardhi.

“Diversity and inclusion is today an integral component of any viable corporate strategy, not only on the basis of value but it also has a long-term impact,” added Semaan.
