Hambro Perks targets Oman with Sohar International alliance

UK asset manager Hambro Perks has partnered with Omani bank Sohar International to expand its operations in the Mena market.

The two will launch a series of co-investment platforms and joint funds focused on venture capital investment opportunities in the region.

While Sohar’s clients will get direct exposure to the VC asset class, Hambro’s portfolio companies will get the chance to partner with Omani-based companies, according to the two firms.

“Oman has unique opportunities to offer and this partnership will help us deliver value and access to new growth markets for our portfolio companies as we continue to help them scale, said Hambro perks co-founder and CEO Dominic Perks.

In 2020 Hambro Perks was awarded a VC fund manager licence in Abu Dhabi, form where it launched the Oryx Fund, a VC vehicle focused on the Mena region.
