GFH makes London appointment

Bahrain-based asset management firm GFH has expanded its international presence after hiring a chief executive for its UK operations.

Tariq Al Samahiji will be based in London and will be responsible for growing the UK business.

He was previously the chief executive of BNP Paribas Najmah and global head of BNP Paribas Islamic Finance and Investments as well as the co-founder of London-based capital advisory firm Orpheus Partners.

GFH opened its UK office in April 2019 in a bid to expand its international investment platform and also to further its interest in the European real estate and logistics market.

This objective was further underlined when GFH acquired a majority stake in UK-based real estate specialist Roebuck Asset Management in December 2020.
