UAE-based banking group Emirates NBD has opened its Digital Assets Lab, a platform focused on the new asset class and financial innovation.
According to the bank, the lab will focus purely on digital assets and the underlying technology.
The move comes on the back of agreements signed with professional services arm PwC and digital assets service provider Fireblocks to foster innovation.
This collaboration will concentrate on four pillars – strategy and policy; architecture; partners; and capabilities.
Emirates NBD is not the only back to unveil a digital assets initiative in recent weeks. Earlier in May, Standard Chartered launched a Mena-focused digital assets business in Dubai.
