Emirates NBD appoints wealth management head

Dubai, Emirate NBD, Dubai-based financial services group Emirates NBD has reshuffled its executive team. This follows the announcement that Suvo Sarkar, group head of retail banking and wealth management, is set to retire following ten years at the firm. He will be succeeded by Marwan Hadj, who will also become a member of the group executive committee. Hadj joined Emirates NBD in 2019 and was previously head of retail banking and wealth management for the UAE at HSBC. Meanwhile, Ahmed Al Qassim has been appointed as group head of wholesale banking, Ammr Al Haj has been named as group treasurer and head of global markets. Aazar Ali Khwaja, formerly serving as Group Head of Global Markets & Treasury, has been appointed as Group Head of International & Advisor to the Group CEO for DenizBank. Formerly serving as Senior Executive Vice-President and Group Head – International & Group Strategy, Neeraj Makin will now be responsible for leading the bank’s newly approved Corporate Venture Capital Fund, with an increased focus on merger and acquisition opportunities across the Group. ©2022 funds global mena
