Dubai fintech launches mobile investment app

Baraka, a start-up based in Dubai, has launched its mobile investment app.

The launch follows its authorisation from the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA).

The app is targeted at investors based in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and offers commission-free access to US-listed securities including ETFs.

Baraka also recently completed a US$4 million funding round which will be used to develop new product features and expand its client base in the Mena region.

According to founder and chief executive, Feras Jalbout, the app has signed up more than 10,000 users since its waiting list was opened in March.
