Digital wealth manager FinaMaze launches VC fund

FinaMaze, a digital wealth manager based in Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) has launched a product designed to give smaller investors access to the venture capital market.

The firm has launched a ‘smartfolio’ investment vehicle linked to a number of Mena-based VC funds. Investors can participate in the fund with an initial investment starting from US$10,000.

The fund, managed by FinaMaze, will then allocate to the VC funds at its own discretion.

One reason for the fund launch is the growing appetite for VC investments within the region. It is reported that close to $2 billion has been invested in local startups in the region in 2021.

According to FinaMaze, this is the first time a Mena-based digital wealth manager has offered its clients access to this highly sought after asset class.

“Venture capital and private equity funds have always been a highly desired asset class that was confined to the institutional and to accredited investors committing considerable amounts,” said FinaMaze founder and CEO Mehdi Fichtali.
