Ian Johnston, chief executive of the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), has been elected as the vice chair of the Africa and Middle East Regional Committee (Amerc) of the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (Iosco).
The organisation serves as a standards body for international financial regulators.
The Amerc division of Iosco comprises 42 regulators in the region, including the DFSA.
Johnston is no stranger to serving on international bodies, having previously been appointed as chairman of the Joint Forum of the Basel Committee, which brings together a number of international financial regulators.
