French private equity fund manager Ardian has expanded its presence in the Middle East after opening an office in Abu Dhabi.
Based in the Abu Dhabi Global Market on Al Maryah Island, the office will serve Ardian’s local and regional investor base.
It will also support the various portfolio companies in the region in which Ardian has invested.
The Abu Dhabi business, which is Ardian’s 16th international office, will be led by Francois Aissa Touazi, chairman of Ardian Abu Dhabi.
Although it is the firm’s first office in the UAE, it has been active in the region for more than 20 years and is responsible for $25 billion of assets under management from more than 60 investors and $8 billion of capital deployed in the region.
According to Ardian, the office opening “reinforces its long-term commitment to providing a gateway between Europe and the UAE”.
