Amethis fund acquires stake in Tarjama

Amethis, a European fund manager with an African-focused fund, has acquired a stake in Mena-based language technology firm Tarjama.

The acquired company, which was founded in 2008 by Jordanian entrepreneur Nour Al Hassan, provides Arab-focused translation management services.

The acquisition was made via the Amethis Mena Fund II, a Luxembourg-domiciled Sicav.

The deal, of which no financial details were disclosed, is the second transaction to be made by the fund following the acquisition of a stake in Moroccan micro-irrigation developer Magriser.

The investment will be used to support Tarjam’s AI technology development efforts as well as its growth strategy across the region.
