ADIA and SC Capital launch data centre initiative

Singapore-based private equity firm SC Capital Partners has secured a mandate from a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) for a data centre investment programme.

The firm states that it plans to amass capital commitments of US$2 billion for the mandate.

Investment will be focused on data centres in the Asia-Pacific region, primarily in Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Australia.

Earlier this year, SC Capital set up SC Zeus Data Centres, a pan-Asia data centre platform subsidiary headquartered in Singapore which will act as the operating partner for the data centre investment programme.

“This new program complements our existing pan-Asian opportunistic strategy and allows us to significantly scale up our data centre capabilities and platform in the fastest developing data centre region in the world,” said Suchad Chiaranussati, Chairman and Founder of SC Capital Partners.
