Natixis hires Amundi’s Middle East chief

DubaiNatixis Global Asset Management has hired Amundi’s former chief executive for the Middle East to head up its Dubai-based regional business.

Jean Michel Bourgoin will move from Abu Dhabi to Dubai as he takes up the role of executive managing director for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) at Natixis GAM.

He will be charged with expanding the firm’s institutional and distribution business in the region and will report to Fabrice Chemouny, head of institutional sales and Matt Shafer, head of international retail and wholesale distribution.

“Jean Michel’s appointment underscores our commitment to continuing to grow our presence across the MENA region,” says Chemouny.

Bourgoin spent many years at Banque Indosuez before joining Credit Agricole Asset Management, which became part of Amundi. A statement from Natixis GAM says he has 25 years of experience in covering large institutional clients in the Middle East.
