Morgan Stanley opens Abu Dhabi office

Morgan Stanley is the latest global investment firm to expand its presence in the Middle East.

The Wall Street investment bank has opened an office in Abu Dhabi, adding to its existing operations in Riyadh, Dubai and Qatar.

“We are delighted to be expanding our regional presence and commitment by opening an office in Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM),” said Clare Woodman, head of Morgan Stanley EMEA and CEO of Morgan Stanley & Co International.

“There are exciting times ahead for the Mena region and as capital markets activity continues to grow and diversify it brings new and rewarding opportunities for both regional and global investors.”

The office opening announcement coincided with the launch of a two day investment forum to be held by Morgan Stanley in the Middle East, a forum which the firm hopes will become an annual event.

The office opening was also welcomed by the ADGM chief of market development, Arvind Ramamurthy, who described the move as underscoring “the attractiveness of Abu Dhabi and its value proposition as a preferred destination for global players seeking strategic growth opportunities for their business”.

Morgan Stanley joins a number of Wall Street firms who have recently expanded their Mena operations. In June, Goldman Sachs announced it would be an opening an office in the ADGM.
