JP Morgan Private Bank bolsters Mena team

JP Morgan Private Bank has appointed Steve Wainwright as managing director and senior banker to its Middle East and North African (Mena) team.

Based in Geneva, Wainwright will be responsible for leading a team of advisors providing investment advice and generational wealth planning for high net worth clients.

He will report to Tara Smyth, Mena market manager for JP Morgan Private Bank who welcomed his appointment. Wainwright’s “deep understanding of the Middle East and North Africa market, extensive background in relationship management, business acumen and overall leadership will be invaluable as we grow the preeminent team in wealth management,” Smyth said.

Prior to joining JP Morgan, Wainwright spent 18 years at Deutsche Bank where he served as managing director and head of wealth management for the Middle East and Africa markets as well as a member of the Deutsche Bank (Suisse) executive board.

Before his time at Deutsche Bank, Wainwright worked at Kleinwort Benson/Dresdner Bank, holding a number of wealth management positions in Zurich and the Cayman Islands.
