Veteran emerging markets investor Mark Mobius has been appointed by Investcorp to join its India advisory board.
The addition of Mobius comes just months after Bahrain-based Investcorp opened a second office in India, located in the greater Delhi region.
Mobius was the former head of emerging markets at Franklin Templeton and oversaw the firms’ launch of several emerging and frontier market funds.
He then went onto found Mobius Capital Partners, an active manager of emerging market funds.
“As several of Investcorp’s Indian portfolio companies may exit via public markets over the next few years, we will benefit from Mark’s unparalleled insights as a leading public equities investor,” said Rishi Kapoor, Investcorp co-chief executive.
