Deutsche Bank names middle east CEO

Jamal Al Kishi has returned to Deutsche Bank as chief executive for Middle East and Africa (MEA).

Al Kishi had previously held the role between 2016 and 2020 before leaving to take on the CEO position at Gulf International Bank in Bahrain.

By returning to Deutsche Bank, Al Kishi replaces Kees Hoving who will become the German bank’s chief country officer for the UAE.

Al Kishi will report to Alexander von zur Muehlen CEO for Asia Pacific, Europe, MEA and Germany, and Berthold Fuerst, co-head of investment banking coverage for EMEA.

He will be based in Riyadh, rather than Dubai which is the bank’s regional hub and was the base for Al Kishi’s prededcessors.

Al Kishi will also take on the role of vice chairman for origination and advisory as of April 1.
