Abu Dhabi looks to strengthen China investment ties

The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) has signed an agreement with China-based investment services firm CBB International to attract more Chinese capital.

The agreement was signed during Abu Dhabi Finance Week, designed to support Chinese companies looking to invest in the UAE and the wider Mena region.

Bi-lateral, non-oil trade between the two countries grew 18% in 2022 to $72 billion.

The agreement between ADIO and CBB International, owned by China Construction Bank Corporation, will focus on joint venture opportunities for Chinese and UAE corporates and dual or secondary listings of Chinese companies on the Abu Dhabi Exchange and vice versa.

“This collaboration will unlock new commercial opportunities that will benefit both markets and elevate our economic ties to new heights,” said Badr Al-Olama, director general of the ADIO.
