Law firm Deloitte has appointed Wayne Thomas as managing partner in the Middle East, replacing Humphry Hatton, who will move on to lead the company’s operation in Turkey.

Thomas has spent 20 years working for Deloitte on cross-border acquisitions and joint ventures for private equity, corporate and family office clients.

“Humphry has achieved a great deal in the last five years and I am delighted to take on the role at this exciting time,” said Thomas.

Part of its financial advisory business, Deloitte’s Middle East team advises on M&A transactions, restructuring, capital raising and other activities.

In separate news, Deloitte has admitted Ahmed Al Qassabi as a partner in its Middle East business. A former director at the Oman Capital Markets Authority, Al Qassabi handles audit and financial advisory services for clients in Oman.
