Waha Capital reshuffles executive board

Abu Dhabi-based investment manager Waha Capital has appointed Mohamed Hussain Al Nowais as its new managing director.

The appointment follows the departure of former chief executive Michael Raynes who leaves after serving just over a year in the role.

The search for a new chief executive is currently underway but Al Nowais will lead the company in the interim.

According to Waha Capital chairman Waleed Al Mokarrab Al Muhairi, the appointment of Al Nowais is designed to support the company’s current growth plans.

Waha Capital is reportedly engaged in talks with Gulf Capital about a possible merger.

Al Nowais is also chairman and managing director of Tama Investment and Development. He has previously held roles at Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and JP Morgan in New York.
