Value Partners Malaysia launches China ETF

Hong Kong-based fund manager Value Partners has launched a shariah-compliant ETF with exposure to China A-shares via its Malaysia subsidiary.

The Shariah China A-Shares 100 ETF tracks the performance of the Dow Jones Islamic Market China A-Shares 100 index.

The ETF, Value Partners Malaysia’s first ever locally listed vehicle, will adopt a full replication strategy whereby it will hold every constituent of the benchmark index with broadly the same weighting.

The A-Shares equity universe includes companies connected to China’s so-called new economy, such as the tech, healthcare and 5G industries.

According to Value Partners, the ETF will give Malaysian investors exposure to China’s new economy within shariah principles.
