Bahrain-based asset manager Investcorp has unveiled a new offering aimed at the insurance market.
It has launched an “insurance solutions platform” designed to bring investment management services to cash-rich insurers.
The new company will be headed by chief investment officer Todd Fonner who has previously worked for Blackstone Insurance Solutions and RenaissanceRe Holdings.
“The formation of Investcorp Insurance Solutions is a milestone for us and aligns with our strategy of continuing to expand our suite of offerings to meet the evolving needs of our clients,” said Mohammed Alardhi, executive chairman of Investcorp.
Alardhi added that the launch was inspired by the increasing number of insurers “allocating to private investments as an important source of alpha in today’s environment”.
