The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange has adjusted its weekly trading schedule to fit with the recent decision from the UAE government to announce a four and a half day week.
As of January 2022, the ADX will be open from Monday to Friday with the trading hours remaining unchanged from 10.00am to 3.00pm.
The UAE’s changes to the working week will also take effect in January. Federal government entities will now work from Monday to Thursday at 7.30am to 3.30pm with Friday acting as a half-day, from 7.30am to 12.00pm.
The introduction of an extended weekend is part of a government effort to boost work-life balance and enhance social well-being while also increasing performance and competitiveness, according to the government.
The change will also bring the UAE and its financial sector into alignment with global trading schedules.
