ADIB names CEO

The Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) has appointed Nasser Abdulla Al Awadhi as its group chief executive.

The appointment will take effect as of January 9,2022, pending regulatory approval.

Al Awadhi, a UAE national, joins ADIB from Dubai Islamic Bank where he was group chief of consumer banking since 2018.

A fixture of the region’s sharia banking sector, Al Awadhi has also worked at real estate developer and sharia-compliant investor Tamwheel.

He joins ADIB at a time of growth. The bank has seen its client base pass the one million customer landmark.

Al Awadhi will be expected to lead the bank through its next expansion stage and its 2025 growth strategy.
