Abu Dhabi Catalyst Partners (ADCP) has teamed up Vortex Energy, a renewable energy platform managed by the private equity arm of EFG Hermes.
The asset manager, based in the Abu Dhabi Global Market, will become an anchor investor in the Vortex Energy IV fund.
The fund recently reached its first close of US$200 million, including a US$25 million commitment.
The fund has a target size of $750 million and will focus on investment opportunities arising from the transition to clean energy and net zero carbon emissions.
“In a world rallying to solve the climate change conundrum, sustainable finance is a critical enabler of economic and environmental longevity,” said James Munce, chief executive at ADCP.
“We believe the asset management industry can play a significant role in fuelling the transition to a greener future.”
