Trussbridge targets mid-market with new Dubai operation

Dubai marinaInvestment bankers Samer Katerji and Rody Yared will manage a new Dubai-based financial services firm, Trussbridge, that will provide investment banking and execution to companies, investors andfamily businesses in the Middle East.

“We believe there is a fundamental change in the views and requirements of clients in this region,” says Katerji, who previously worked for Citigroup in the Middle East. “Many clients have told us that they are increasingly seeking closer, longer-term relationships with their advisers that are not solely based on one-off transactions or financings.”

The company says it will focus on what it calls the “underserved mid-market sector in the Middle East”. The only transaction currently listed on its website is the sale of a minority stake in Hygenic Holding, which produces tissues and other hygiene products, to a consortium of private investors led by Standard Chartered Private Equity.

Trussbridge is based in the Dubai International Financial Centre and regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority.

“The Middle East can be a unique region in terms of its investment banking advisory needs,” says Yared. “Many private businesses are seeking advice for their next phase of strategic development including expansion in new markets.”
