The Bank of London and the Middle East (BLME) says its chief executive, Humphrey Percy, will step down on June 11 after nearly nine years in charge of the firm.
The firm has not revealed a successor nor has Percy given a reason for leaving.
In a 30-year career, Percy has worked for Henry Schroder Wagg, Barclays Merchant Bank (later Barclays de Zoete Wedd/BZW) and WestLB, among others. He says he looks forward “to the new challenges that lie ahead”.
Adel Al Majed, chairman of BLME Holdings, thanked Percy and said the firm’s priority is to develop its Islamic offering in the Middle East.
Percy was a member of the original management team that implemented the firm’s business plan after it received authorisation in July 2007.
